Amid BUMN takeover rumors, this company is cutting 80% of its employee

Remember PT Toba Pulp Lestari? that private company that lost its concession because of Sumatra floods? Well, there’s news today that they’re laying off 80% of their employees.

A lot of people are saying this is a straight-up state capture move. Like, instead of actually fixing the problem, the government just took it away and is reportedly handing it over to Agrinas. BUMN that's been messy lately with the vehicle procurement drama for MBG and Kopdes.

TBH, with the way things are going under Prabowo where the state, military, and police are taking over roles and the private sector is getting pushed out what d you all guys think about this?

I’m lowkey scared this is gonna make investors think twice to come to Indonesia where a lot of uncertainties on regulations and often change frequently.
