Silent layoff is real

There’s no HR call. No letter. No warning. No PIP. Instead, it happens slowly: your role gets smaller, work that used to be yours is taken over,
decisions no longer include you.

The hardest part isn’t just being sidelined, but being left hanging, not let go, yet never given clarity. Meanwhile, someone else looks the most “proactive”,
takes all the spotlight,
and ends up being seen as the top contributor.

Not because of poor performance, but because the situation is designed to make you exhausted enough to leave on your own.

Meng, when you’re stuck in a silent layoff and left hanging like this, should you fight or directly to walk away?

No need to fight back, just chill out focus on other things finding new job or just take care of your mental health. Kalau mereka push balik, puter balik aja omongan mereka pokoknya udah di game tahan tahanan aja. I know it's tough but that's their game, tunggu sampe di PHK atau kalau disuru resign minta benefitnya (biasanya 1x gaji), udah banyak yg bisa bantu jalur hukum kalau perusahaan tetep maksa untuk resign. Hang on buddy! mending sembari benerin portfolio aja :")

Pernah di posisi ini krn perubahan direction dari management. Saran dari hrbp dulu: just enjoy the ride, as long as you get paid. LOL.

Jangan baper. Hidup gak cuma soal kerja. Selama masih digaji, loe masih bisa seneng-seneng outside work, santuy aja. Mulai cari side hustle atau belajar trading. Inget Hidup loe bukan cuma soal kerja & kantor.

That's mean your contribution is not significant enough to get spotlight. Sick of all people ranting about silent layoff etc., while in reality it's their performance that is in questions. If you good enough you will not be sidelined, period. My colleage with this mentality always complaining with the same tone. While I know big part of the problem is them self.

why don't we just sit there and get paid? I know it feels bad bad to be left out like that, but take it as an advantage, so you can use the time and space and room to work on other things like freelance jobs or some project or yes find another better job?

another pov is the one who get all the spotlight is failed to be promoted for x,y,z reason in several years. Getting burnout, and then eventually resign due to theres no reward for it besides securing your pip list

Belom dapet kerjaan baru? yaudah fight n stay aja dulu sampe surat PHK keluar. dijaman kayak gini, akhirnya Job security dan penghasilan jadi kebutuhan penting. gak dipake skillnya? ya coba do something small, try to discuss with peers, lo bisa bantu apa, or ngelakuin mentoring apa gitu ke siapa, biar skill lo ga karatan. tp itu klo gw. Belum tentu cocok di elo. Fire up Meng.
